Our experience has shown that economic growth in developing countries comes not from enterprises but relatively small and growing businesses, those with five to 100 employees that have potential and desire for change. Where can these people be found in countries that traditionally have a weak culture of entrepreneurship and a lack of role models, such as Haiti?
Pon Otonimi Finansye (POF), translated to English as Bridge to Financial Self-Sufficiency, is a 48-month program designed to help parents living in Haiti become financially self-sufficient. We believe that everyone should be able to provide for themselves. However, not everyone is as lucky to be economically self-sufficient. Our Haitian people do not need handouts, but they need opportunities. Once enrolled in the program, we educate people about money, provide them with entrepreneurship training, and help them access capital.
Action Bridge launched this program in June 2015 in Cap-Haitian, Haiti. We started with seven individuals who had no way of earning a living. We train them. And through microcredit, they can start a small business and be on the road to financial self-sufficiency. With dozens of families in our program, we need your financial support. You can make a difference today by donating to a family so they can become financially self-sustainable.
Where is it available? This program is available in Haiti.
